Senior Leaders
Pastors Bert and Margaret Boonstra
Bert and Margaret have pastored churches in South Africa, England and the Netherlands and have experience in Bible teaching, community work, youth and children’s ministry. Married in South Africa, they later trained at Bible College in Durban. Bert is a qualified career advisor and tutor, and Margaret holds a degree in Health Informatics and worked in the NHS. They have five grown children and since 2016 have been serving in the Tyne Valley, supporting the church in Prudhoe.

We feel incredibly privileged and humbled to step into our new role as assistant pastors at The Gate Church. We are deeply passionate about God’s house – His people, His purpose, and the vital work He is doing amongst us. Serving alongside you all is a tremendous honour and a joy that we don’t take lightly. We are filled with excitement and eager anticipation, trusting completely in the Lord to guide and move us all forward together in this next season of ministry. We can’t wait to see what He has in store!
