I usually go to work on a bus, but I have to work at home for a while! Today I found a picture of a bus for you to colour in. You can download it here:

Did you like the kids version of the My Lighthouse song by Rend Collective? Why not watch it again and learn the actions?

Rend Co Kids have this sheet that goes along with the Lighthouse song. Use it to help you think about why the words of the song are so important.

Tomorrow we celebrate something called V E Day. It is special because it is 75 years since World War 2 ended in Europe. The V and E mean Victory in Europe. We are very thankful that we do live at a time when the different counties in the world are all fighting one another. Some people are having parties to celebrate the end of the war, so we have found a British flag and bunting for you. People will probably use flags like these when they celebrate.

Have you ever made a puppet from a clothes peg? No? All you need are clothes pegs (ask first!), coloured paper, glue and scissors. Why not try now? Here are the instructions:

Praying for people around the world

God loves the world. Look at this map of the world (perhaps you can find another one on the internet with your family). Can you find our country?

In our country
Thank God that he loves you and your family.
Thank him that he loves everyone in our country.
Ask God to help the Prime Minister and his helpers to make good choices.
Pastor Bert and Pastor Margaret are very busy helping us to find ways to get together and learn about how we can “Love God Love People Love Life” more and more. Ask God to help them with that, so that they can help us all.

In other countries
The world is very big – there are so many more countries and God loves everybody everywhere.
Some of the children in our church have family members who live in other countries. If you have grandparents, aunts and uncles or friends who live overseas, find their country on the map and pray for them and other people who live there. Don’t forget to thank God that he loves them too.

Other children
Why not pray for other children around the world who are the same age as you? Don’t forget our missionaries Spain who have two boys who are about the same age as some of you. Talk to God about them and ask him to keep them safe!

Today is Sunday and we usually see you and your family at church. Why not spend some time with your family finding ways to worship God at home? Ideas:

  • Sing some songs that you remember from church
  • Tell your family about something you have learned in Kids’ Church
  • Pray for someone else from church and ask God to take care of them until you see them again
  • Perhaps you have some other ideas – put them in your journal so that you can tell us about them!!
