Week 1

Today we have a picture for you to download and colour in. Yesterday was Mother’s Day and this picture is of some children having fun with their mum:

Did you enjoy seeing the Watoto Children’s Choir? They were so good and very lively, weren’t they? See if you can learn the words of this song that they sang at the end of their concert! Don’t worry, the words are there to help you!

Verse 1:
Open our eyes
To see the need
Open our ears
To hear the cry
The broken hearted
The wounded soul
You’re calling us
We will go
We will be Your hands and feet
We will run
We will reach the least of these
Shine the light of the love
To the ends of the earth
We will go, We will go,
We will go…oh
Verse 2:
Open our hearts
To hear You sing
A song of love
A song of peace
Declaring freedom
And hope for all
You’re calling us

Some people are feeling a bit scared because everything seems to have changed so much. Some grown ups have to work at home instead of going to work, some grown ups have to work extra hard to help look after other people, you can’t go to school. Remember, when you are afraid, God is with you and he will help you. Try to memorise this verse from the Bible to help you remember this:

Pastor Margaret told the adults about Psalm 23. See if you can find it in the Bible and then find some of the words in this wordsearch puzzle:

Have some fun – have a picnic at home!!

Don’t forget to pray for other people (and yourself). Today we have a bookmark to help you remember who to pray for. You can also make one to give away!

Today is Sunday and we usually see you and your family at church. Why not spend some time with your family finding ways to worship God at home? Ideas:

  • Sing some songs that you remember from church
  • Tell your family about something you have learned in Kids’ Church
  • Pray for someone else from church and ask God to take care of them until you see them again
  • Perhaps you have some other ideas – put them in your journal so that you can tell us about them!!

  • Kid Bert

Great stuff Ruth, well done, thank you
